Study on Dry Mortar Mix (RMM) :
RMM (Ready Mix Mortar) is a pre-mix of cement, sand and additives. The user has to only mix water in right proportions to have the mortar ready for use. The main advantages of this concept is the ease of use, consistency of mortar (as the sand and cement is mixed in the right proportions), no problem regarding availability of sand (most sand quarrying is illegal) and cleaning and drying the same, etc. RMM also has the advantage of not needing a primer before painting, lower curing time, no cracks or shrinkage, no wastage (as the mortar binds well with the surface on which applied because of the added binders), etc. The average shelf life of the RMM is about 6 months. RMM can be used for plastering as well as a mortar for tile fixing.
From the study, our client was able to understand the reaction to the concept of RMM, present purchase and usage practices, cost comparison vs. conventional practices and identification of niches where RMM will find acceptance and inputs for launch strategies.
