Some Typical Studies :
Brief Description of Some Typical Studies :
Study on Adhesives used in construction
These studies have focussed on the market for these adhesives when viewed against the conventional practices followed in residential and non-residential constructions. There is very little usage of products such as tile adhesives in India, when compared to the West. However it is seen that the newer materials are costly when compared to the existing ones. In light of conventional practices, additional benefits offered by new material, likely inclination to use the material when viewed against the substitutes, growth patterns in the construction segment, etc., we have charted the future demand for these materials in the Indian markets.
Studies have been carried out to assess the performance of such products in the markets in terms of satisfaction, application and need gaps.
Study on Sanitaryware & Fittings, Ceramic Tiles
Market for Sanitaryware in India is huge when we consider the enormous numbers of households that does not have such facilities. Conversion of non-toilet households to those with toilets has been slow and marketers concentrate a lot on developing aesthetic and more effective designs such as wall hanging types. Our studies have helped manufacturers to assess the market potential for new designs & international brands, acceptance levels, go no-go decisions for new and foreign projects, approaches for entry, threat from competition etc.
Study on Dry Mortar Mix (RMM) :
RMM (Ready Mix Mortar) is a pre-mix of cement, sand and additives. The user has to only mix water in right proportions to have the mortar ready for use. The main advantages of this concept is the ease of use, consistency of mortar (as the sand and cement is mixed in the right proportions), no problem regarding availability of sand (most sand quarrying is illegal) and cleaning and drying the same, etc. RMM also has the advantage of not needing a primer before painting, lower curing time, no cracks or shrinkage, no wastage (as the mortar binds well with the surface on which applied because of the added binders), etc. The average shelf life of the RMM is about 6 months. RMM can be used for plastering as well as a mortar for tile fixing.
From the study, our client was able to understand the reaction to the concept of RMM, present purchase and usage practices, cost comparison vs. conventional practices and identification of niches where RMM will find acceptance and inputs for launch strategies.
Studies on Real Estate :
We have carried out studies on Emerging software technology parks and hi-tech commercial centres. The areas of enquiry in such studies has included product development based on ascertaining the specific needs of knowledge based industries who are the target for such complexes.
We have successfully helped some large hotel chains to plan the size of hotels in a few cities based on the existing facilities in competition hotels, tourist arrivals, need gap for better services to the patrons, possibility of new ventures etc.
