Telecom/IT/Internet sector : Trade Research

We conduct trade researches to help marketers of products to efficiently reach their customers. Most trade researches involve profiling current distribution channels in terms of dealer availability, capabilities and reach and determining costs involved in direct/indirect sales promotion methods.

Some trade researches we have done recently are:
  1. Cellular telephones : Dealership assessment
This study was aimed at identifying dealers of cellular related products. We contacted large and medium dealers of office automation products. Their strengths and weaknesses such as past performance (sales), investment in infrastructure, growth expectations and willingness to take up cellular telephones dealership were assessed in order to identify dealers for a potential tie-up with the client.

  2. Marketing cost estimation
TDesk research to estimate long term marketing cost of acquiring telecom subscribers in a few satellite towns in India was conducted during the course of this study. A comprehensive list of various cost components was generated. These were:
    • media costs for radio, television, print and other outdoor media based on certain advertising objective
    • sales promotion/direct promotion expenses
    • dealership acquisition cost and trade margins

The study involved contacting major advertising agencies, related product marketing companies (office equipment marketers) and major dealers for these products.
