Telecom/IT/Internet sector : Usage and Attitude (U&A;) Studies
Usage and attitude studies measure the current ownership, usage pattern, satisfaction levels and problems faced with the product under study. We have handled U&A; studies for basic telephone services for various clients. A brief description of two such studies handled by us in the recent past is presented below :
- Demand for telephone and cable TV
This study was conducted in Gurgaon (satellite town close to Delhi), Coimbatore and Tiruppur (in TN). The existing resident owners of telephones were profiled by occupation, income and other demographic variables. Their usage patterns, satisfaction with service and problems faced were probed.
An estimation of demand for basic telephony and cable services from existing owners and non-owners of telephones/cable TV was made for these satellite towns.
-
Study of heavy users of telephones
The objective of this study was to assess the monthly revenue generated by heavy users of telephones in 11 cities in Tamil Nadu. This was done by understanding the calling patterns of calls originating from heavy users. The heavy users were defined as:
- PCOs
- Commercial establishments (shops, small offices)
- Large offices
Telephone bill analysis
In order to validate findings from primary research, an analysis of telephone bills to find out the calling patterns (to cities within Tamil Nadu, outside Tamil Nadu but within India and outside India) of 52 establishments and PCOs was also done.
